This workshop fee is £150 pp and is a 6 hour workshop from 10am - 4pm. This short course covers everything from getting started with clay work, to decorating your pottery or sculpture. This is ideal for someone starting out in learning about pottery and clay. However, it is also suitable for those with experience in clay. We will cover main hand-building techniques; pinch pots, slab building and coil pots and using moulds. There is an opportunity to learn how to throw a pot on the wheel, time allowing. By the end of the day you will have produced 2-4 small pieces of work and understood the fundamental skills used in pottery. A light lunch and refreshments are included. Minimum of 2 people to run.

1-DAY Mother & daughter Ceramics WORKSHOP
Dates: By negotiation This is an opportunity to spend a special day, 10am -4pm, in my garden studio in Colehill, Wimborne with your daughter making a variety of small projects together. You will cover a few hand-building techniques; pinch pots, coil pots and slab-building. There will be an opportunity to have a go on the wheel, time allowing. By the end of the day you will have produced 2-4 pieces of work each (one of which will be a table-lamp base or cake stand) and understood the fundamental skills used in pottery. Receive individual and group teaching in this 8-week small group (max 4 persons) workshop. All sessions are suitable for all skill levels; however, if you are a beginner there is now a specific class running on a Wednesday morning whilst the intermediate workshops will further develop your skills and knowledge. I will demonstrate a range of hand-building techniques, wheel throwing, and surface decoration. Initially, your projects will centre around techniques, and you will also learn about different clays and glazing techniques. This will ultimately enable you to develop a personal design-led project, whether you want to make non-functional or functional ware. Each workshop is 2.5 hours long. This is an excellent introduction to pottery and ceramics; when you have mastered the main hand-building techniques during the first 3-5weeks, you can then go on to create your ideas more independently with guidance from me. An extra 10th session (get-together) is held at the end of the course for all groups to come together, share, and reflect on their experiences. The deposit is non-refundable. Throwing Experience workshops
Taster Throwing Workshop - 2 hrs - £80
Each workshop experience is 2 hrs long and the fee is £80. You will cover the basics of throwing a pot on the potter's wheel. This workshop is held as one-to-one tuition, and times and days can be negotiated to your convenience. If you require a series of throwing lessons, these dates are also negotiable.
6-Week Throwing Workshops - 12 hrs - £299
Each workshop experience is 2 hrs long. This is one-to-one tuition. You will be taught all steps of making a pot on a potter’s wheel, including throwing, turning and glazing. The course caters for the complete beginner upwards. You can expect to make around 10 pieces during the course.
Four-day throwing course A 4-day throwing course will cost £425, 10am-4pm , one-to-one tuition and during this time you will work on making the following on a potter’s wheel, - cylinders, bowls, plates and vases. No experience is necessary for the course, and it is suitable for complete beginners upwards. Students will also be taught how to trim all their work to refine their pieces. At the end of the course, student will select their glaze colours for the studio to glaze and then pack the kiln and fire their work. Pots are typically ready to collect 3-4 weeks after the course. Students are required to bring their own lunch. Refreshments will be provided each day.
