This workshop fee is £150 pp and is a 6 hour workshop from 10am - 4pm. This short course covers everything from getting started with clay work, to decorating your pottery or sculpture. This is ideal for someone starting out in learning about pottery and clay. However, it is also suitable for those with experience in clay. We will cover main hand-building techniques; pinch pots, slab building and coil pots and using moulds. There is an opportunity to learn how to throw a pot on the wheel, time allowing. By the end of the day you will have produced 2-4 small pieces of work and understood the fundamental skills used in pottery. A light lunch and refreshments are included. Minimum of 2 people to run.

1-DAY Mother & daughter Ceramics WORKSHOP
Dates: By negotiation This is an opportunity to spend a day, 10am -4pm, in my garden studio in Colehill, Wimborne with your daughter making a variety of small projects together. I will cover a few hand-building techniques; pinch pots, coil pots and slab-building. There will be an opportunity to have a go on the wheel, time allowing. By the end of the day you will have produced 2-4 pieces of work each (one of which will be a table-lamp base or cake stand) and understood the fundamental skills used in pottery. Nine week evening/AFTERNOON/Morning workshops - 2.5Hours -over 16Yrs old
Receive individual and group teaching in this 9-week small group (max 4 persons) workshop . The sessions are suitable for all skill levels, so, if you are a beginner or a maker wanting to further develop your practice. I will demonstrate a range of hand building techniques, wheel throwing, surface decoration and initially your projects will centre around techniques, you will learn about different clays and glazing techniques. This will ultimately enable you to develop a personal design led project, whether you want to make nonfunctional or functional ware. Each workshop is 2.5 hours long. This is an excellent introduction to pottery and ceramics and once you have learnt the main hand-building techniques after the first 3-5 weeks you can then go on to create your own ideas more independently with guidance from Elaine. Over 65s concessions for morning and afternoon workshops. An extra 10th session (get together) at the end of the course is held for all groups together to show, share and reflect on their experiences. The deposit is non refundable. Each workshop experience is 2.5 hrs long and £75. You will cover the basics of throwing a pot on the potters wheel. This workshop is held as one to one tuition and times and days can be negotiated to your convenience. If you require a series of throwing workshops these too are negotiated pro-rata and all completed pieces thrown will be fired and glazed in the kiln.

A 3 hr hand-building workshop will be held in my studio in Colehill, Wimborne . You will make two pieces of functional pottery, a jug and a mug (or two of either). You will use a slab roller and a variety of optional decorating methods. The workshop fee includes all tuition, materials and kiln firings. After the completed workshop the works will be fired and glazed ready for you to pick up in 2-3 weeks. Places limited to 6 per workshop.
